Teddy Bear Picnic Cookies for Alfie

“If you go down in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise!

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain
Because today's the day the
Teddy Bears have their picnic.”

Little Alfie is 1! These cookies started with a white royal icing flooded base. Then I used Americolor red, green and blue sheen airbrush colors to create the Gingham background. I did this by using a stripe stencil, airbrushing with the stripes one direction, waiting for that to dry, then airbrushing the stripes the opposite direction. 

On top of the gingham background, I traced teddy bears and their picnic, then filled those traced shapes with white piping consistency icing. When that was dry, I was able to paint the teddies and their picnic on top!

Here’s hoping Alfie and his friends have a wonderful Teddy Bear picnic for his first birthday!
